The Harper Preschool faculty and staff are excited to offer a comprehensive preschool program for students who reside in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District attendance area. Harper Preschool is one of the first preschools in California to provide a full continuum of instructional settings to maximize inclusion of children with special needs. Our students’ success is a product of research-based early childhood intervention and support services.

Our unique inclusion program combines special education, fee-based and state preschool students in a variety of settings, including mainstream preschool classes, blended classes and special day classes. State preschool children qualify based on age, family size, and income. Children qualify for the Special Education placement and services through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process. Children who do not qualify under the state preschool or special education guidelines may participate in the fee-based program for a monthly fee.

All of our students progress at their own individual level toward achieving goals based on the skills for kindergarten readiness outlined in the Desired Results Developmental Profile. Our main goal is to have all children prepared for successful transition to kindergarten.
